Shake Anderson

Shake Anderson is the artist that you have always loved but never knew it. You've heard his music but didn't know the talent behind the melody and the music.

Sam “Shake” Anderson, multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and producer, started recording and touring at age nine. Shake has worked with artists as varied as Ruben Studdard, Victor Wooten, Bruce Hornsby, B.B. King, Earth Wind & Fire, Aretha Franklin, The Indigo Girls, The Spice Girls, Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder.

About Shake:

Shake has also worked on many movies and has several gold and platinum albums for his work on Blue Streak, Dr. Dolittle, Boys on the Side and Austin Powers. He has played in some of the greatest concert halls and venues in the world — Carnegie Hall, The Apollo Theatre, Symphony Music Hall, Radio City Music Hall, The Heinekin Music Hall, The Ryman Auditorium and The Buordone Theatre in Frankfurt Germany. Shake now makes his home base Ft. Worth, Texas..

Clark's latest independent release, Damon K. Clark Live at the Kessler, Volume I is a great introduction to the singer's artistry. Culled from several cabaret-style performances at Oak Cliff's Kessler Theater—with a stellar cast of supporting musicians, including Caleb Sean McCampbell, Asher Barreras, Justin Heaverin and Neeki Bey—Clark is in rare form throughout, from ballads to up-tempo songs.

Clark has mostly devoted his time and energy to educating vocalists at the Damon K. Clark Vocal Studio. Although Clark is an infrequent performer, his concerts announcements are always greeted with a high level of anticipation and enthusiasm. Sam 'Shake' Anderson can't be boxed neatly into only one genre. To do that, you'd miss the point. Real life isn't neat, and certainly isn't predictable. And Shake is nothing, if not real. His lyrics tell more than just his story. They tell your story. Shake develops melodies that provoke emotion, using vocals and instrumentation that elicit a raw edginess. It is a true delight to have Shake performing in the Dallas Jazz Series.
